Wakoopa – your own spy tool
Wakoopa is the perfect place for people to discover software online. When you sign up, you also install a small tracker that keeps tabs on what software you use. This creates an online profile for you to share with the world, and also gives you updates and recommendations on what your friends and others are using.
What it also does is to show “the rest of the world” what software you are running on you computer and how much and often you are running it. It could be a way to discover new software, but it is also a way to…well, expose yourself. The entire idea with Wakoopa is, I guess, to sit down and find time to browse through other users software and maybe find something you haven’t heard about before. If you ask me, there are way much better things to do to discover new software. It is slick and web 2.0-looking, but quite unnecessary.
